About Chris

This user has not added any information to their profile yet.

Chris Zorn is an artist, musician and educator. He is a Certified Appreciative Inquiry Facilitator and specializes in bringing Appreciative Inquiry to bear on all aspects of the education environment from developing and sustaining appreciative classrooms, to facilitating positive, productive professional development sessions to organizational planning, change and school and district leadership development.

He has trained extensively in non-violent communication and conflict resolution (with Belgian pioneer Pat Patfoort), is a practitioner of similar material developed by Marshall Rosenberg (NVC) and this on-going work also influences his approach to facilitation.

For nearly 3 decades, he has used contemplative and reflective practices to deepen the learning experience for students of all ages from kindergartners to seniors. For the past 15 years he has taught music, art and multimedia classes to students in primary and secondary classrooms and he also teaches art to adults at the Honolulu Museum of Art School, incorporating the principles and practices of Appreciative Inquiry into each educational setting. He has developed and facilitated numerous professional development sessions for teachers and administrators using an appreciative approach. He regularly presents his work with contemplative and appreciative education at various education conferences and often creates visual art using themes of Appreciative Inquiry.

He studied music and visual art at Naropa University, has a masters degree in ethnomusicology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a post-baccalaureate degree in education from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
