The AI Practitioner has an open call for their May 2014 issue with the working title: “Long-Term Impact of Appreciative Inquiry at Colleges and Universities”. This issue will focus on the long-term use of Appreciative Inquiry at Colleges and Universities around the World.

The editors for this AI Practitioner issue are: Lane A. Glenn, Kelly Saretsky and Nancy Stetson. (Nancy co-designed our world-renowned Appreciative Inquiry Facilitator Training (AIFT); Lane and Kelly attended the AIFT and have been involved with the Center for Appreciative Inquiry on numerous projects. Both have significant experience with colleges that are creating a culture where AI thrives).

The editors are particularly interested in how individual leaders and organizations have chosen to continue the use of Appreciative Inquiry over time and in demonstrations of the long-term outcomes and effectiveness of AI at Colleges and Universities.

Please contact Lane at lglenn@necc.mass.edu for the call for submissions. Please send your proposals to him before August 15, 2013.

We are so looking forward to the stories that this project will generate!

Almost 2 years I discover the uniqueness of AI approach through my research project. I am really excited to join the basic workshop of AI for my future career. However, most of the seminar/workshop too far from Malaysia and due to some limitations I can’t attend. If possible, could you advise me for any seminar/course related to AI which conducted surrounding Asia countries…Tq

I just discovered your interest in AI within a community college setting. For the past 7 1/2 years we have intentionally engaged in a myriad of appreciative inquiry and leadership practices. I would love to interact with other practititioners who see their role as growing a generative learning community through AI.

      Hello Alan,

thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I think it is great that for the past 7 1/2 years you and your institution have infused Appreciative Inquiry into your work. What has been the result of this? I would love to hear! I invite you to join our “Discovering Appreciative Inquiry” group on LinkedIn. We have many AI facilitators, teachers, practitioners, and trainers who are available to answer questions and provide resources for you.

We are also in the midst of planning a virtual AI conference for those, such as yourself, who would like to immerse themselves more into the process, as well as meet other AI folks. Please sign up for our newsletter, if you haven’t already, because we will make the announcement there as to the date and time of this conference. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please call our office. We are always open to new opportunities.

      Appreciatively,
      Melissa Robaina
