Jan is an executive coach and leadership development partner.  She bases her coaching on emotional intelligence, helping individuals and teams strengthen their skills to improve their performance and be more productive.  She coached through ImagePartners, Inc. for three years and is completing a year of study with Daniel Goleman to be certified as a Daniel Goleman Emotional Intelligence Certified Coach in his first cohort worldwide.  (2018-2019). 

Jan excels in developing exceptional leadership teams, identifying and accelerating the development of mid-level talent for promotional opportunities and strategic planning. She has been a sounding board for CEOs and an advisor to top executives on change management, communication and team development/team building.

Jan served as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for St. Vincent’s HealthCare in Jacksonville, Florida, for 15 years, with responsibilities for leadership development, human resources, training and organizational development. She is most proud of the design and implementation of the Accelerated Development Pool, a year-long program for leadership development with a high success rate of promotions. As CHRO, Jan partnered with Mayo leadership and led the Human Resources transition team when St. Luke’s Hospital (now St. Vincent’s Southside) was purchased from Mayo Clinic by St. Vincent’s. She was a champion for the merger of Baptist Health and St. Vincent’s and on-boarded new associates regardless of work site. Jan developed Workplace Advocacy Teams comprised of members of management who educated themselves on union practices, engaged associates in discussions and maintained a union free work environment.

Prior to the executive role in Human Resources, Jan served in clinical Nursing roles with increasing responsibility from staff RN in Critical Care, and Cardiovascular Clinical Practice Instructor, to the Director of Nursing for Critical Care and Telemetry. Jan developed her team of direct reports, designed and opened new patient units and taught new staff nurses. Jan has received recognitions over her career including Top 100 Nurses from Florida Nurses Association, Women in Power from the National Council of Jewish Women, and the Women of Distinction award from Girl Scouts of Gateway Council.

     Jan is certified by ACHE (FACHE), SHRM (SHRM-SCP), and HRCI (SPHR).  She is certified in Crucial Conversations, through DDI to teach leadership courses, and through the Non-Profit Center of Jacksonville as a community coach.  She is additionally certified in emotional intelligence and administers the EQI-2.0 assessment and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.  Jan is also certified as an Appreciative Inquiry coach.

    Jan served as Board Chair of OneJax, an interfaith organization working to build a collaborative community through civil discourse discussions and community suppers, adult and youth programs.  She remains actively involved. She served on the Board of the Jewish Community Alliance and is a past Board Chair.  She served as Board Chair of Girl Scouts of Gateway Council from 1998-2004 and served as event chair for the Women of Distinction from 2015-2017 and event chair for the first Women Who Make a Difference in St. Augustine, Florida, September 2017.  Additionally Jan serves on the Board of the Society of Emotional Intelligence, North Florida chapter.
